This series will lead us into the season of Lent as we consider the places where we all fall short and the cost that Jesus paid to redeem us and gather us to himself. The theme of rocks and stones is found throughout the Bible. The Psalms refer to God over and over as “my Rock” or “the Rock of my Salvation.” Jesus teaches that we must build our lives upon his Word, on the Rock, so that we will have a firm foundation when the storms come to assail us. He also calls on all of us to soften our “hearts of stone.”
